Biography

Richard Bloom was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Isaac Bloom was born in 1861 in the Port Town of Geelong, located at the eastern end of Corio Bay (the smaller western portion of Port Phillip Bay) and the left bank of Barwon River, about 65 km (40 mi) southwest of the capital City of Melbourne, Colony of Victoria, Australia^[1]. He was the son of David Bloom and Catherine "Kate" Hart.

Around 1863, his parents moved to the City of Christchurch, Canterbury Region, New Zealand, where he spent his formative years. The family moved back to the Colony of Victoria around 1889 but Isaac had already moved there as he married Hannah Abrahams in 1888 in the City of Melbourne, Colony of Victoria, Australia^[2]. The following children were born to the couple:--

1. Leslie David Bloom (1890–1973);
2. Percival Michael Bloom, born 1891 in Carlton, Colony of Victoria^[3];
3. Alfred Lipman Bloom, born 1893 in Carlton, Colony of Victoria^[4];
4. Kate "Katie" Bloom, born 1895 in Carlton, Colony of Victoria; died 9 May 1967 in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia^[5][6]; and
5. Queen Alexandria (Bloom) Raven Graham.

Isaac died on the 1 July 1955, at the age of 94, in the goldmining City of Kalgoorlie, 595 km east-northeast of the capital City of Perth, in the Esperance-Goldfields Region of Western Australia^[7]. He is buried in the Hebrew portion (along with his daughter, Katie) of the Kalgoorlie Cemetery, 39 Memorial Drive, West Lamington, City of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia^[8].
