Sir John Blois was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Biography

John Blois, son of the reverend Ralph Blois ^[1]and his wife, Elizabeth Rabett, was baptised on 21 November 1740 at Yoxford in Suffolk.^{[2] [3]} He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and Gray's Inn.^{[3][2] [1]}

On 3 February 1762 he married Sarah Thornhill, daughter of George Thornhill and his wife, Sarah Barne.^[3][2] His father died 8 May that year and John succeeded to his baronetcy as 5th Baronet Blois of Grundesburgh. Sarah died 17 May 1766 having born him a son, Charles, and a daughter, Sarah. ^[4]

On 21 April 1772 John took a second wife, Lucretia Offley, daughter of Thomas Offley of St Kitts.^[3][2] Lucretia died 11 July 1808.^[2]

John died intestate on 17 January 1810^[2][1] at age 69.^[3]
