Biography

Baptised on 14 Sept. 1657, Charles Blois was eldest surviving son of Sir William Blois of Grundisburgh Hall and his first wife, Martha Brooke, daughter of Sir Robert Brooke of Cockfield Hall, Yoxford, and co-heiress to her brother Sir Robert Brooke. He succeeded his father in 1675.

On 11 May 1680, he married Mary Kemp daughter of Sir Robert Kemp, 2nd Baronet, of Ubbeston Church, Gissing in Norfolk. Together they had 3 sons and a daughter. Charles was created a baronet on 15 April 1686.

His second wife, whom he married by license granted on 18 April 1694, was Anne Hawtrey, daughter of Ralph Hawtrey of Eastcote House, Ruislip in Middlesex. They had two sons and a daughter.
