Antoine Blanchard was born about 1681 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Guillaume Blanchard (abt. 1650–aft. 1716) and Huguette Gougeon (abt. 1655–1717).[1] He was likely born in Port Royal, as his parents were married there, all his siblings were born there, and he was in Port Royal in 1686.

In 1686, at Port Royal, Antoine, aged 6 1/2, lived with his parents, Guillaume Blanchard, aged 35, and Huguette Goujonne [sic], aged 27, and his four siblings: Marie, aged 12, Rene, aged 8, Jeanne, aged 5, and Anne, aged 2. They owned 4 guns and lived on 5 arpents of cultivable land with 16 cattle and 20 sheep.[2]

In 1693, at Port Royal, Anthoine [sic], aged 14, lived with his parents, Guillaume Blanchard, aged 42, and Agate Goujon [recte Huguette Gougeon], aged 37, and his eight siblings: Rene, aged 16, Jeanne, aged 11, Anne, aged 9, Jean, aged 6, Elisabeth, aged 4, Guillaume, aged 3, Madeleine [sic], aged 1, and his married sister, Marie, aged 19. Marie's husband, Charles Bourgeois, aged 20, and their baby, Jeanne [recte Marie Jeanne], aged 1, also lived with him. The family owned 3 guns and lived on 30 arpents of cultivable land with 30 cattle, 40 sheep, and 15 pigs.[3]

Antoine (25) married Élisabeth (Terriot) Thériot (20) (born about 1686 in Port Royal, Acadie; daughter of Claude Thériot and Marie Gautrot) on 31 Jan 1707 in Port-Royal.[4][5]Their known children were:

  8. Marguerite Blanchard (1724–1724) .
  9. Anne Blanchard (1725–abt. 1800)
  10. Marguerite Blanchard 1728-

He died on 5 Oct 1750, at age 69 and was buried the next day at Port Royal. Witnesses were Zacharie Richard, Germain Savoye and Michel Richard.[6]
