since I didn’t see any reaction from your side about the check-in message from May, I assume you don’t want to remain a project member. If I don’t hear from you within the next 14 days, I will then remove your Germany Project badge. If you do not wish for that to happen, please reply to the check-in message below or send me a direct message.

Mary;

I have not been active in the military and war project over the last 6 months. My main goal up to now has been to complete a description of my father's World War II experience as a glider pilot, which has been complete for some time now. I do have a couple of uncles who also served in WWII, and I could relate their stories on their profiles, but the principal contribution I might make, if no one else has done so, would be a special page devoted to the role glider pilots played in WWII. Let me know if there might be any interest in that.

Michael thanks for the reply to check in. Now is the time to become very active and write the profiles of the uncles. Also PLEASE DO MAKE A special FREE SPACE PAGE.--- principal contribution YOU CAN make, if no one else has done so, would be devoted to the role glider pilots played in WWII.

Everyone will read it. Once you start it, post the link for it on the World War II Project page. If you need help, just message me.

To answer your main question, because of the pandemic and other issues, my work on the English Classical Composers project has of necessity been on hiatus in 2020-21. A lot of work remains, but I do intend to take it up fully again in 2022 and hopefully complete it by that year's end. Similar may be said of the Benefiel Single Name Study.

Thank you for inquiring Mike Bissell [Bissell-517]

Ian;

I'd like to continue in the England Project and try to continue giving special attention to following the Bedingfields of Norfolk, and their descendants, with all their various surname spellings.

Hi Michael,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Joan, Amy & Lizzie.

Hi Joan;

I am just getting re-engaged in doing the English Classical music composers, which is a very slow prospect. I have around a hundred biographies yet to write and each is taking several hours to a few days to complete, I probably won't have it complete for another year. I haven't used either Discord or the Google group much as I am working alone in true introvert fashion. Comments welcome, Mike Bissell

Hi Michael,

Thank you for getting back to me and for you work on the English Classical music composers. That is an interesting piece of work and I am sure that there will be some good profiles by the time you have finished. If you decide you want to join us on the Google Group or Discord, let me know I will send the links to you. Regards Joan

Hello Michael, the England Project has changed the way that "Category:England Project" is used. Previously it identified England Project Members, now it is a category for the England Project Free Space Pages and admin pages.

I would therefore be very grateful if you would remove "Category:England Project" from your personal profile. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.

Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. I wanted to thank you for your work on English Profiles. These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice or if you wish to do something additional or different. Thank you again on behalf of all the project leaders for everything you do!

Hi Amy;

Thanks for checking in. I've been inactive in my portion of the England project for several weeks now because I've been writing a book on my family history. However, I am still very much interested in completing the English Classical Composers subproject just as soon as I've gotten the book finished and off to the publisher (2 to 3 more weeks maximum). Once I get back to it, I would estimate that the Composers will still require a number of months to complete. Please let me know if any of this creates a problem for England leadership.

Cheers, Mike Bissell [Bissell-517]

None of that is any issue at all! We're just making sure that our current members still want to be members, is all :) Especially given the current global climate we're hardly going to be strict about it, haha. I hope your book goes well!

Hi Susie;

I'm hereby checking in for the England project and reporting that all is well and I continue to work on English classical composers. Mike Bissell [Bissell-517]

Hi Michael,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have yet to heard back from you. I hope you are well.

One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Susie :-)

Hi Mike,

On behalf of the England Leaders, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your contributions towards the project in the past six months as a Team Member for Composers and Connectors. We've achieved a great deal during this time and we couldn't have done it without you.

Are you happy to stay in your current teams and the project as a whole? Are there any other teams you'd like to join? What are we doing well, and what would you like to see us doing differently moving forwards?

Please respond to this message via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

Susie, England Project Leader :-)

Please check your "Suggestions" List for ways to refine the profiles that you manage.

Hi Michael, I am researching my family history, and have a paper trail to Robert Calvin Buchanan https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Buchanan-3175. Now looking to prove connection to George Buchanan (1721-1818) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Buchanan-259 , and it seems that if you and I have shared DNA (From Mary Buchanan--daughter of George Buchanan) who was married to George Benefiel), that would confirm that George Buchanan was in fact my 5th GGF. Anyway, if you have any info to share, I would appreciate it. I am doing the DNA soon and will upload the results. Thanks! Brett

Hi Michael,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hello, Michael,

On behalf of the Military and War Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members.

First, we want to thank you for your past participation in the project. We appreciate your desire to honor your ancestors for their service to their countries, or even for your service, wherever in the world. We hope that your membership has enhanced your WikiTree experience.

Please let me know, by commenting on my profile or sending a private message, if you are still active in the project, and if so, in a general sense how you may have contributed to the main project or any sub-projects within the last couple months.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Michael,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie
