Biography

Cecil Bias was born in Appalachia, in West Virginia. See Appalachia Project.

Cecil Clyde Bias was born on September 15, 1895 in Huntington, Cabell, West Virginia, United States[1][2][3], son of Crosby R Bias and Arabella Bias.

In 1900, Cecil (age 5) was the son of Crosby Bias in Guyandotte district (excl.[4]

In 1910, Clyde (age 14) was the son of Cosby R Bias in Huntington Ward 4, Cabell, West Virginia.[5]

Cecil registered for the draft for World War I.[6][7]

Cecil married Leota Belle Shaw (born on May 2, 1898 in Morehead, Rowan, Kentucky, United States; daughter of Thomas Shaw and Eliza Jane (Hale) Shaw) on 6 Apr 1915 in Catlettsburg, Boyd, Kentucky.[8] Their children were:

In 1920, Clyde (age 24) was the married head of household in Cabell County, West Virginia.[9]

In 1930, Clyde (age 34) was the married son of Crosby R Bias in Huntington, Cabell, West Virginia.[10]

In 1940, Clyde (age 44) was the married son of Crosby R Bias in Gideon Magisterial District, Cabell, West Virginia.[11]

Cecil registered for the draft for World War II.[12]

Cecil died on December 18, 1965 in Huntington, aged 70. He was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia.[13][14][15]
