John Betten is geboren in Friesland na 1811
Jan Jans Betten was born 16 November 1861[1] in Haulerwijk. He is the son of Jan Jans Betten and Janke Jans Jongbloed. He died 4 August 1930[2] in Grand Rapids and was buried at the Oakhill Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan[3]
Jan Jans Betten married 25 year old Trijntje Hummel (1868-) at 32.[4]
Jan Betten emigrated with his wife and family to the United States of America. They arrived 27 April 1914 with the steamship Nieuw Amsterdam at Ellis Island in New York. Destination was his brother-in-law Jan van de Heide in Fremont, Michigan[5]
