Trijntje Betten, geboren 27 Februari 1897[1] in Haulerwijk, dochter van Jan Jans Betten en Trijntje Hummel. Zij is overleden 14 Februari 1987 en is begraven Grandville Cemetery, Grandville, Kent County, Michigan[2]
Trijntje Betten emigreerde met haar ouders, zusters en broers naar de Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Zij arriveerden 27 April 1914 met het stoomschip Nieuw Amsterdam op Ellis Island in New York. Bestemming was haar oom Jan van der Heide in Fremont, Michigan[3]
