Maurice Berkeley

Origin

Maurice was born 1 June 1358 in Uley, Gloucester, England.^[1]

Maurice was a son of Sir Thomas Berkeley and Catherine Botetourt, the daughter of John, the 2nd (and last) Lord Botetourt.^[1] He was the grandson of the Sir Maurice and the great-grandson of Maurice, Lord Berkeley (d.1326).^[1]

According to Wrottesley, Maurice Berkeley was the son of Katrine who was the daughter of Joyce, the daughter of William la Zuche of Richard's Castle.^[2] (?)This may be previous generation of the same family (?) Billups-130 22:43, 31 May 2015 (EDT)

Maurice married to Joan, daughter of Sir John Dynham of of Hartland, Devon.^[1]

Property and Honors

Maurice was knighted between July and September 1379, while on a journey to Brittany.^[1]

Death and Legacy

Maurice died on 2 October 1400,^[1] probably at home at Uley, Gloucester, England. At the time of his death, they had no children, but Maurice was born some months later.^[1]
