Charles Bentley was an American dentist. He was the founder of the largest local dental society in the world, a leader of the Chicago branch of the NAACP, and one of the 29 founders of the Niagara Movement.

Charles Edwin Bentley was born on 1 Feb 1859 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States. He was the son of Charles Bentley and Sarah Ann (Gentry) Bentley.[1]

Charles married Emily Traviata Anderson (1863 - 1893) on 10 Sep 1883 in Rock, Wisconsin, United States.[1]
Charles married Florence Augusta Lewis (1859 - 1943) in 1897 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.[3]
Charles died on 13 Oct 1929 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois aged 70. He is buried in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.[4][5]
