Biography
- The 1900 Census shows an "H V W Bennett" with two daughters, Lillian and Bertha, whose birth dates match with the daughters listed as adopted by William & Harriet on the 1910 Census. I think it's safe to say that they are Harriet's biological daughters and that William adopted them after he and Harriet married. The question remains as to whether "Bennett" is Harriet's maiden name or if maybe "Van Wyck" could be her maiden name.[1]
- William lists Lillian Bennett & Bertha Bennett as "adopted daughters" on the 1910 Census, which supports the above assumption.[2]:
- Birth and death dates were taken from her memorial on Find-a-Grave, which contains an image of her grave marker. These dates should be accurate. -- Fiscus-32 10:45, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
