Biography
- William A. Coursen, Harriet's husband, adopted both Lillian and Bertha after he and Harriet were married. The 1900 Census indicates that Lillian's mother was born in Iowa, as was Harriet, and that her father was born in Massachusetts; however, the 1910 Census states that both of her parents were born in New Hampshire.
