Mamie "Peanut" Johnson was a successful Negro League pitcher. Breaking the gender barrier, she had 33 wins and 8 losses as a pitcher for the Indianapolis Clowns.
Mamie was born on 27 Sep 1935 in Ridgeway, Fairfield County, South Carolina, United States of America. She passed away on 19 December 2017 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA. Major League Baseball prepared a video about her and two other pioneering women baseball players. [1]
