Biography

Doyne Courtney Bell was born in London in 1830 and was educated at King's College School, London and at Brunswick. He filled the confidential office of Secretary to the Privy Purse. He was an accomplished musician and proficient in several languages, and wrote books and papers on historical subjects. He died at his official residence in London in 1888.
