1st Lieutenant Wilbert Behrens was Missing in Action in the Philippines on Dec 16, 1944 during World War II.

Wilbert was born in 1924. He was the son of William Behrens and Christine Busse. [1] [2]

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. [3] His wings were granted on 1 October 1943, and he later became a Thunderbolt pilot with the 5th Air Force.

Wilbert married Shirley Wilke on 5 January, 1944. He left to go overseas just 9 days later. Tragically, he was declared missing after a raid in the Phillipines on 15 December, 1944. [4]

He was only 20 years old.[5]
