Biography

Maude (Beddingfield) Swope is a part of US Black heritage.

Maude was born in 1910 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Lewis Bedingfield and Judy Coleman.^[1]

In 1940 Maude was living with husband John Lane and 5 children in BIg Creek, Limestone County, Alabama.^[2] In 1950 Maude and John were living with 4 children in Athens, Limestone County, Alabama.^[3]

She passed away in 1998 in Ohio.^[4] She was buried in Little Elk Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.^[5]
