Biography

Birth

Mary Elizabeth Becker was born at Livermore, Maine, in 1845, the daughter of Amos O. Beckler and Betsey H. (Austin) Beckler.[1] She was living at Livermore with her parents in 1850 as Mary E. Beckler, age 4,[2] and in 1860 as Elizabeth M. Beckler, age 14.[3] Her gravestone shows her birth date as 9 Sep 1845,[4] which is consistent with a calculated birth date from her age at her death from her death record.[5]

Marriage

Mary Elizabeth Becker married Joseph H. Thing.[1] Her death record names her as the wife of Joseph H. Thing.[5] The 1900 Census says they had then been married for 31 years.[6]

Children

Mary Elizabeth (Beckler) Thing was the mother of three children, born between 1872 and 1884, and they are listed in the https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Thing-97#Children "Children" section of her husband's profile].

Death

Mary Elizabeth (Beckler) Thing died at Auburn, Maine, on 26 Nov 1907, with her age at her death recorded as 62 years, 2 months, 17 days.[5] The Thing family gravestone at the Hillman Ferry Cemetery in Livermore, Maine, shows her birth date as 9 Sep 1845 and her death date as 24 Nov 1907.[4]
