Onofrio was born in the 1700s before 1797 but probably earlier [1], son of Calogero Becchina and Gaudenzia Cottone [2]. He married Giovanna Giarraputo, date unknown, and later married Giuseppa Lombardo, date unknown. In 1817, he married the widow Anna Mangiaracina [3], who may have also gone by the name Maria Mangiaracina.
The connection of this man with daughter Audenzia and son Calogero is entirely circumstantial. The glitch is that we know that this man married Anna Mangiaracina, and his son and daughter have Maria Mangiaracina as their mother. The evidence in support of connecting this Onofrio to Audenzia and Calogero is (1) the father is Onofrio Becchina, not a common name; (2) the father's DOB around 1772 works with this man having a 3rd wife by 1817; (3) this man's mother was named Gaudenzia (aka Audenzia) and his father was named Calogero, and that matches the name of the daughter and son of Maria Mangiaracina. In short, I think Anna Mangiaracina and Maria Mangiaracina are the same woman. If wrong, I'll have to separate the children Audenzia and Calogero eventually and give them different parents.
