Henry married Ellen Jane Farmer in Gawler, South Australia on 2 April 1885.[2] The following marriage notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Adelaide Observer, on 18 April 1885:[3]
BEBEE —FARMER.—On the 2nd April, at Gawler, by the Rev. Walter Jones, Henry J. K. Bebee, to Ellen J., second daughter of the late Patrick Farmer, of Gawler.
Henry died in Kapunda, South Australia on 27 June 1925 at the age of 63 years.[4] The following death notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Register, on 29 June 1925: [5]
BEBEE. —On the 17th June, at Kapunda Post Office, Henry Joseph Kemp, beloved husband of Ellen Bebee.
Henry was buried at the Kapunda Cemetery in Kapunda, South Australia on 28 June 1925,[6]
The following obituary was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Register, on 1 July 1925:[7]
Mr. Henry Bebee, whose death occurred at Kapunda last Saturday, was well known throughout the State in connection with the Postal Department, of which, he had been an employee for 47 years. He was born at North Adelaide in July, 1861. For 30 years Mr. Bebee was connected with the post office at Gawler, and he had also been postmaster at Port Pirie, Jamestown, Burra, Thebarton, and Kapunda. He was a prominent Freemason at Gawler for some time; also a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters. For 16 years Mr. Bebee was an active member of the Gawler Institute committee, and for several years was a warden of St. George's in the same town. He has left, besides a widow, a daughter— Mrs. W. F. Sandow (Peterborough) — and two sons— Mr. Howard Bebee (Sydney), and Mr. Alfred Bebee (Blyth).
