John was born in 1743. He was the son of James and Rebecca Beardsley. He passed away in 1812.[1]
In 1756, John being of lawful age made the choice of Obediah Beardlee of New Fairfield as his guardian.[2]
He was called Colonel John, having gained the title in the Colonial Regiment. [Holt]
