Earl Jesse Battey was professional baseball player. Battey was one of the top catchers in the American League, winning three consecutive Gold Glove Awards between 1960 and 1962.[1]
Earl was born in 1935 in Los Angeles County, California.[2] He was the son of Earl and Esther Kern Battey. In 1940 he was living with his parents and siblings in Compton, California.[3]
He married Sonia Faye Allen in Marion, Florida in 1969.[4]
He passed away in 2003. He was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.[5]
