Olive married Oscar Edward Waldemore Bruns in Hartley, South Australia on 6 March 1912.^[2] The following marriage notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 8 April 1912:^[3]

BRUNS—BARTSCH.—On the 6th March, at the residence of the bride's parents, by the Rev. J. Dingle, Oscar E. W., second son of August Bruns, Hartley, to Olive E. A., fifth daughter of Herman Bartsch, Hartley.

Olive was granted a divorce from Oscar by the Supreme Court of South Australia on 16 December 1924.^[4]

Olive died in Belair, South Australia on 17 November 1976 at the age of 87 years.^[5]

Olive was buried at the Mitcham General Cemetery in Mitcham, South Australia on 19 November 1976.^[6]
