Biography
Arthur Stirling Barton was born on 3rd June 1856 at Boree Nyrang, Molong, New South Wales, Australia. He was the youngest child of Robert Barton and Emily Darvall.[1]
He married Lucy J Smith in 1884 at Dubbo, New South Wales.[2]
Arthur was a pastoralist and successful sheep breeder. He was associated with the Australian Bank of Commerce, Pastoralists' Union of New South Wales, and Sheepbreeders' Association (NSW). His Sydney home was at Rydalmere, overlooking the Parramatta River.
He passed away on 19th July 1916 at Strathfield, New South Wales.[3]
