Romulus was born in 1825. He was the son of Giles Barnes. Romulus enlisted in Company I of the 103rd OVI on 2 Mar 1865. His brother, Cornelius had been serving in Company I since 1862. When the 103rd mustered out he was transferred to the 183rd OVI. Shortly after the war he moved to Bingham, Clinton, Michigan. He passed away in 1898.
