Jesse Barber was an African-American journalist, teacher and dentist. He was one of the The 29 founders of the Niagara Movement.

Jesse Max Barber was born in 1877 in South Carolina.

He married Hattie Taylor in 1912 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1][2]

His World War I registration indicates that he was a dentist, living at 3223 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia with wife Hattie.[3]
