Mary Baptist is a part of US Black heritage.
Mary's year of birth is estimated based on the fact that she was included in the will of Edward Baptist Jr, written on 18 September 1797.[1]
In Edward's will, he gave Mary to his daughter, Rachel (Baptist) Lee.
- "I give to my Daughter Rachel two negroes named Harry and Mary to her and her Heirs."
The date of Mary's death is unknown at the time of this writing. She may have died in Virginia, as the Lee family continued to reside there well into the 1800s.
