This profile was originally attached as a second son of King John II, however no reliable sources have been found to substantiate this relationship. Please see the research note on King John II's profile for further detail. Recent historical research suggests that Henry may have belonged to the Cavers branch of the Balliol family in Scotland, if he existed at all.[1][2] Until reliable sources can be found to show that Henry was a son of John Balliol, he has been detached from that family. It is also highly unlikely that Isabel de Warenne was his mother, as she died sometime in the 1290s and Henry (if he was the king's son) was born after 1302. Stevens-17832 22:18, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
