Herbert George Balding was born in 1913 at Narrandera, NSW. He is the son of Richard Balding and Mary Fasso[1].
Married Alice Mary Bundock 1937[2].
March 1943, Enlisted for military service in World War 11; Service# NX149553. At discharge Herbert was posted to 2/9 Field Regiment. "An Australian Army artillery regiment formed as part of the all volunteer Second Australian Imperial Force for overseas during World War II...(from 1942) It undertook defensive duties in south-east Queensland before deploying north to Merauke, in Dutch New Guinea, and Cape York. It returned to Australia in October 1944 and sent to the Atherton Tablelands to carry out training as it waited for further deployment. This never came and the regiment was disbanded in late 1945."[3]
He passed away 1976 at Wagga Wagga, NSW[4].
