Joseph is though to have been born around 1822 in Cockburnspath, Berwickshire however no records corroborate this information.
Research Notes
Joseph was originally attached to parents John Bauld (~1768 - ~1836) and Margaret Black (~1766 - 1857). However he has been removed from this family as it is highly unlikely that they were his parents.
John Bauld and Margaret Black's last child was born in 1809 some 13 years before Joseph's birth. There is also no records to suggest that the couple had a son named Joseph.
