Margaret BAIN was born in 1888 in Claremont, Cape Town, Cape Colony, South Africa. She was the daughter of Irish-born Nathaniel Martin BAIN, a merchant tailor, and English-born Mary Ann WOOF. ^[1] She was baptized at St. Saviour's Parish Church in Claremont, Cape Town. Her godparents were her mother's sister and husband Susannah (Woof) Linington and Henry John Linington. ^[2]

Margaret died in childhood. ^[3]
