Simon Connell Bagby was born in Alabama, United States, son of Arthur Pendleton Bagby (1794 - 1858) and Ann Elizabeth (Connell) Bagby (1805 - 1853).[1]
Simon joined the Army of the Confederacy. He was in Company E, 3rd Alabama Infantry, CSA under Lt. Gen. Jubal A. Early.
Simon was killed at Fisher's Hill, Virginia in 1864 at the Battle of Shenandoah and was buried with the other soldiers from the battle.[1]
