Research Notes

[This source] has him as being from Tippah County. There are no John Babbs in that county in the 1850 or 60 Census. But he was in company A, which was mustered in Tishomingo County. There is a John Babb there: "United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6GK-LXW : 14 December 2017), John W Babb, 1860. with a wife Sarah Babb, no children.
