Biography

Wolfert II van Borselen (born abt.. 1280 - died between 30 May 1316 and 6 April 1317) was 'heer van Veere en Zandenburg'. In 1312 Wolfert II married Aleid van Zandenburg (born abt 1290 - died after 12 juni 1351), an extrajudicialdochter of Jan II van Avesnes. The relationships between Wolfert and the county of Holland were tense by the performance of and the murder of Wolfer's father Wolfert I van Borselen. This marriage was the confirmation of the reconciliation (1308) between Wolfert II and Willem III van Holland. For this marriage, papal dispensation was requested because the couple was related in the fourth grade.[1]
In 1327 trouwde joncfr. Alijt (overleden ± 1350) met Jan van Foreest. Zij kregen drie zonen. De oudste zoon Herpert zou zijn vader opvolgen als ambachtsheer. [2]

Most sources say her mother is an unknown mistress of Jean.[3][4] These genealogies, especially Med. Lands, draw from primary sources and reference them.
