Biography

Michel Aucoin is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 11 Right, La Ville d'Arcangel arrivee le 3 Decembre 1785. Listed with Michel and his wife Isabelle Hebert are their children: Jean, Michel, Pierre, Francois, Constant, Marie, Anne, Isabelle, Floriane, and Gregoire.^[1]

Jean Charles Aucoin, son of Acadian deportees, was born in France in 1761.^[2][3] They were given the opportunity to restart their lives in Louisiana, and immigrated in 1785.

He married Helene Thibodeaux in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana in 1787.^[4]
