Biography

Mary Ashworth (married name Nuttall) was born on 13 January 1840 in Claylane, Spotland, Lancashire, England, the daughter of Margaret and Hugh Ashworth.

She married John Nuttall on 4 August 1861 in Spotland, Lancashire. Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Betsy Susan Nuttall (1875–1935)
• Hugh James Nuttall (1877–1944)

Mary (age 28) and John Nuttall (28), with their daughters Harriet (2) and Betsy (1) emigrated to Australia on the Great Britain, arriving in Victoria in December 1866. ^[1]

John died in 1888.^[2]

Mary died on 15 November 1893 in Morwell, Victoria, Australia, aged 53 years.^{[3] [4] [5]}
