William Armstrong is Notable.

William Oscar Armstrong was an American politician who was the first Black candidate for statewide office in Massachusetts. He previously represented Ward 9 in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Boston Common Council.[1]

William Armstrong was born in Oberlin, Ohio in 1847.

In 1872, he married Elizabeth Haywood.[2]

He died in 1932 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston, Massachusetts.[3]
