Biography

Rose Ann F. Appel was born on July 1, 1835 in Washington, District of Columbia. ^{[citation needed]}
Other evidence suggests she was born about 1834, not 1836. ^{{See Research Note #1 below}}
She was the daughter of Henry Apple and Gertrude Schoepf. ^{{See Research Note #1 below}}

In June 1850, 16 year old Roseann, along with Gertrude, Henry, Julius, and George, were found living in the Henry Apple household in District 8, Allegany County, Maryland. Henry was working as a stone cutter. ^{[1] {See Research Note #3 below for full details}}

Ann married Frederick Lineberg.

In June 1870, 44 year old Frederick, along with Rose (35), Henry W. (11), Danforth A. (9), George B. W. (7), John F. (5), Julius (3), and Cora V. (1), were found living in District 8 (Flintstone Post Office), Allegany County, Maryland. Frederick was working as a farmer. ^{[3] {See Research Note #3 below for full details}}

Roseann died on December 21, 1899 in Little Orleans, Allegany County, Maryland. ^{[citation needed]}
She is buried in Dyche Cemetery in Doe Gully, Morgan County, West Virginia. ^[5]
