This profile should not be confused with Sarah Acrim or Acram daughter of Richard Acram.
Uncertain parentage
Sarah was previously linked as daughter to Thomas J. Antram. No evidence has been found to link her and it appears that this widely-circulated internet connection is in error. If anyone has source that shows a link between them, please post it with out thanks. Until this relationship can be confirmed, please do not re-link Thomas J. (or L.) Antrim/Antram/Antrum as Sarah's father.
Sarah was born on 13 Sep 1724 in Chester, Pennsylvania.[citation needed]
Given name
Widely-circulated internet profiles for Sarah show a middle name as "Esther." As of June 2020, no evidence has been found to validate this middle name. While it is possible that it is an incorrect name assignment, it is being retained until the source of the document(s) that spurred its creation can be found. An "Esther" record may contain some clues as to the identity of her parents. Until a definite resolution, her middle name has been marked as uncertain.

Sarah was married to Thomas Beals on 12 November 1741[1] as reported in the New Garden Monthly Meeting minutes:
1741, 9, 12. Thomas (Beales), Prince George Co., Md., m Sarah Antram. [m. in Md. or Va.]
The marriage record in the Men's Minutes of New Garden Monthly Meeting reads, in part, as follows: "Thomas Beals of the county of Prince George in Maryland and Sarah Ankram [sic] of the same place having declared their intention of marriage before several of the monthly meetings...in Maryland and Virginia...they having consent of parents and parties concerned..." Twelve witnesses are recorded: Mary Matthews, Sarah Beales, Elizabeth Matthews, Hannah Ballenger, Susanna Moon, Mary Tannyhill, Oliver Matthews, Tho. Research Notes
1. According to the book "A Williams chronicle : descendants of Thomas Williams of Sullivan County, New York, and Jefferson County, Pennsylvania : including some families of Horton, Morris, Hickox, Foster, Elwood, Rice, Zum Brunnen, Nolph, Crissman, Hastings, Edelblute..." by Frances Hansen Ehrig, which was published in 1915 while tracing the line of James A Elwood through Horton to Beals it states "Sarah Antrim is the daughter of Thomas Antrim and Sarah Zelley, the grand daughter of John Antrim and Frances Butcher and Daniel Zelley and his wife Martha and the great grand daughter of Thomas Antrim"[4] - added by Z.H.
2 On Ancestry.com there is a birth record from the Family Data Collection by Edmund West stating " Sarah is the daughter of John Antrim and Martha Wells"
Previously, a citation was listed: "Quaker Corner web site - Joanne Raeburn" It appears that this website is no longer in existence and there are no notes that explain what source information was gleaned from this citation. If anyone has access to these records or a new url, please post it. Thanks.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
I think not - we can do it later. Whoever generated the original data for this person may have drawn their info from an Esther entry and it may be a clue for us later. I've marked it as uncertain.
Thomas J is now linked in Uncertain parentage but I do not find the Richard or Sarah Ancrim or Ancram/Acrim/Acram to be in WikiTree--not sure who added this to the profile.
I show Sarah's parents as Richard Ankrum (1675-1726) and Mary Ashman (1685-1746)
We have two bits of evidence about Sarah. The first is the will of William
Matthews in Prince Georges Co. in 1739. In it he names his "daughter-in-law" Sarah Ancram. At this time, daughter-in-law was used
interchangeably with stepdaughter. The other bit is the will of William
Matthews, Jr., son of William and Mary (Ashman) Ankrum Matthews, made in
York Co., Pa., in 1790 and probated in 1792. In it he left ten pounds to
"my sister Sarah Bails." Sarah would be, of course, his half-sister -- From the research of Joanne Todd Rabun
