Lancelot was born in 1914. He was the son of George Andrewes and Mabel Yarborough.
When the 2nd World War broke out Lancelot enlisted. He worked as a storekeeper, Law clerk and as a student before the war.

Lancelot served in the Pacific while his brother Desmond served in Canada and Europe.
He was awarded the following Medals and Awards:
He married Audrey Winifred Kemp. They had at least one son.
He passed away in 1981, as the result of a heart attack.
