Born on 12 Feb 1900 in Laurens, South Carolina. Son of John Anderson and Evalena.

Simmie Dooley taught Pink how to play finger-picking acoustic guitar when he was 16. When he wasn't working and playing for Dr. Kerr's traveling show, he and Simmie Dooley might play for small parties and other gatherings.
