Biography

• Born in San Francisco, but grew up in the Territory of Hawaii before it became a state.

• Attended Medical school at Stanfurd University, graduating in 1910.

• Worked in San Francisco for a number of years, before moving to Rochester Minnesota in 1934 where he was employed as a professor at the University of Minnesota (Mayo Foundation). He may also have worked at the Mayo Clinic as well.
• After retirement in 1951, Walter began writing a medical column which was syndicated to lots of newspapers.

• He died in San Francisco, California in 1978.
