Biography

On February 9,1719, Daniel married Rebecca Newman at St. Stephen's Parish, Sassafras, Kent County, Maryland. Richard Sewell officiated.

Daniel's father bequeathed his property, livestock, and household furniture in Somerset, Barnstable County, New England, to his wife Sarah during her widowhood. Upon Sarah's death or remarriage, Daniel and his brothers (Tristram, Benjamin, Ralph, and Reuben) would divide that property equally among themselves or their heirs.

Daniel eventually moved into that portion of Orange County, Virginia that later became Augusta County in 1745. The last document found pertaining to Daniel Allen was an Augusta County, Virginia Order Book entry that was dated 18 Mar 1746/47. This entry pertained to the administration of his brother, Benjamin Allen’s, estate.
