Biography
Matilda Allen is a part of US Black heritage.
Matilda “Tilda” Allen was born in 1871 the daughter of Sam and Ann Allen. Matilda migrated to Denton County, Texas with her family from Chambers County, Alabama. Matilda worked alongside her siblings as a laborer on her father’s farm and the family made a decent living there.[1] Matilda died of unknown circumstances at twenty-years-old. Matilda was buried beside her brother in St. John's Cemetery.
