John Allan was a Scottish-born American merchant and the foster father of Edgar Allan Poe while he was married to Frances.
John (50) married Louisa Gabriella Patterson (29) (born on March 21, 1800 in New York, United States; daughter of Louisa Esther Flint (DeHart) Patterson) in 1830. [2]
