Martha Eliza Allamby (married name Sedgman) was born on 13 February 1845 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England[1], the daughter of Martha Eliza (Bartlett) Allamby and William Allamby.
SEDGMAN. —On the 17th December, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Pout, 26 Park Street, Moonee Ponds, Martha Eliza, relict of the late Samuel H. Sedgman, loving mother of Martha (Mrs. A. Pearson), Samuel, Sarah (Mrs. S. E. Pout), George Ernest, Florence (Mrs Cook) and Adelaide (Mrs. Hatton), in her 90th year. Sweet rest.

The ALLEMBY family arrived in the colonies sometime between 1857 and 1859 (birth of Martha's siblings) however no records have been located.
