Avery Caesar Alexander was an American civil rights leader and politician. He served in the Louisiana House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1975 until his death in 1999.

Avery Caesar Alexander was born in 1910 in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana to Abner Alexander and Lena Taplett.

Avery married Pansy Lee Garrett in January 1937 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States.^[1]

In the 1950 census Avery (age 39), Insurance Manager, was the married head of household in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States.^[2]

Rev. Alexander participated in marches with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. including the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, and the first and second marches on Washington.^[3]

Avery Alexander passed away in 1999.^[4]
