Elizabeth "Betsey" Alexander was born at Harpswell, Maine (then in Massachusetts), on 22 Nov 1797, the daughter of John Alexander and Lydia (Rodick) Alexander. See the Research Note below.
Marriage
Elizabeth "Betsey" Alexander married John L. Lambert at Harpswell, Maine (then in Massachusetts) on 17 Dec 1818.[1]
No record has been found of the death of Elizabeth (Alexander) Lambert. The last record found is the 1880 census, when she was living at Falmouth, Maine.[2]
Research Note
Elizabeth Lambert was shown as born in Maine at age 52 in the 1850 Census,[3] 62 in the 1860 Census,[4] and 82 in the 1880 Census.[2] There were two women children whose births were recorded at Harpswell who could have been the Elizabeth Alexander who married John Lambert:
Betsey Alexander, born on 7 May 1796 to Samuel Alexander and Sarah Wilson[5]
Betsey Alexander, born on 22 Nov 1797 to John Alexander and Lydia Rodick[6]
Given Elizabeth's consistent ages from three census records, it is more likely that she was the child born on November 1797, and her parentage is confirmed by the fact that John and Betsey Lambert named a child Lydia Radick Lambert in 1826.
