Biography
John was born in 1750. He was the son of John Alden and Elizabeth Ripley.
John married Prudence Butler on 11 Oct 1774 and had a son, Nathaniel Butler Alden
John served in the Revolutionary War in Col. Durkee's Regiment
He signed on to "The Hornet", a privateer ship of war under Capt. Sylvester Pendleton on Letter of Marque dated 1 May 1779
John passed away in 1784 at age 34 and is buried at Old Cemetery, Lebanon, New London, Connecticut, USA
