Thomas Aitken was born in England.

Birth

Thomas Aitken was born 1833, the son of Alexander Aitken 1776–1865 and Eleanora Lonsdale Forman 1793–1871 He was baptised on August 25 1833 at Akborough, Lincoln in England. ^[1]

At the 1841 census, Thomas lived with his parents at Walcot, Lincolnshire.^[2] He worked as an agricultural labourer with the Spilmans in Yorkshire at the 1851 census.^[3][4]

He migrated to Australia in 1854 aboard the City of Sydney.^[5]

Marriage

Thomas married Julia (Francome) Aitken (abt.1838-1911) on July 12, 1856 at st Pauls in Geelong, Victoria. ^[6]

Death

Thomas died 8 Apr 1917 at Hamilton, Southern Grampians Shire, Victoria, Australia aged 84. ^[7][8] He was buried at Heywood Cemetery.^[9]
