Biography

According to his death record,^[1] Peter Crump ADAMS was born on 25 December 1849 in Virginia, but other records put his birth in December 1850^[2] or 1851 in Patrick County, Virginia. His parents were identified on his death record as Jacob ADAMS of Virginia and Mandy PRILLERMAN.^[1]

He died on 11 December 1926 at his home on 816 Brooks Street in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia.^[1] He is rumored to have been buried on 14 December 1926 in Miller Cemetery in Sissonville, Kanawha County, West Virginia.

He was married on 17 August 1878 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to Nellie ROSS.^[3]

Nellie ROSS was born about 1860 in Putnam County, Virginia. The names of her parents are currently unknown as they do not appear on her marriage or death records. She died on 3 October 1913 in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia.^[4] Her place of burial was not listed on her death record.

There are some researchers that speculate that Charity ROSS might have been the mother of Nellie ROSS, Jacob ADAMS' wife. If so, David ROSS would have been her brother.

Peter Adams was the informant on the death record of a David ROSS who died on 4 January 1925 in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia.^[8] Since David ROSS was living at the same address as Peter ADAMS at the time of his death it is likely that they were related. David ROSS' death record lists his father as Primus ROSS, but his mother was not listed.
